Chris and I made the trip to Iowa City for the Iowa v. Maine game this weekend and we had a great time. The athletic department was having a celebration of 35 years of Women's Athletics so it was fun to be a part of that. We went to a tailgate for the Varsity Club before the game, had great tickets (which were free which is even better!) and of course enjoyed the win. Then on Sunday we were invited to a brunch for the former female athletes at the Hawkeye press box. It was a great opportunity to catch up with some people I haven't seen in a while and to celebrate how far women's athletics not just at Iowa but around the country has come. The press box was unbelievable, as this was our first opportunity to see it since it was renovated and it was very impressive. Maybe someday we'll have the opportunity to see a game from up there, that would be something!

Chris dreaming about what it would be like to watch a game from one of these amazing luxury boxes. We've got a great season ahead of us and we're looking forward to a few more trips to Iowa City for some tailgating and game fun. Go Hawks!!
Oh yeah, and thank you sooo much Grandma Kathy for watching the boys for us so that we could really enjoy the game and some adult beverages (which is very rare for us these days). They had fun!!
