Boys Will Be Boys

If there's a mud puddle on the block my boys will find it, and that's just what they did this weekend. After a rainy week they were excited to get outside on Friday afternoon and they found the one mud puddle that was left on our street. You can see for yourselves what they did with it....... :)

They even managed to get our friend's little boy into the mud with them. Fortunately his mommy was a good sport even though I don't think he's ever been anywhere near a mud puddle, let alone in it!

School Days

Carver's had his 1st day of 4 year old preschool today. I can't believe he's starting his last year of preschool....next year....oh never mind, I'm not even going there yet!! :)

Anyway, he was pretty excited to start today. Last night he kept sayiny, "I wish it was tomorrow already!"

Here he is putting up with mama being a crazy picture lady..... :)

Still being good about mommy taking a million pictures....Kayden snuck into this one too! :)

With his new teacher, Mrs. Fuhr (pronounced like the number four, which Carver thinks is great!)

Daddy even made it to pick Carver up on his first day.....

And my favorite part of today was this conversation....

Carver: "Is THAT what you're wearing to drop me off at school mom?"

Me: "Um, yeah I was going to....." I was just wearing my running clothes and I wasn't even sweaty because I hadn't gone for my run yet. :)

All in all it was a great first day. Looking forward to a great year! :) Oh, and Kayden loves Carver being in school too...he actually gets to talk! :)

Here we are!

Hi Friends!! Sorry for the lack of updates....we've been keeping busy this summer! :) If you're looking for us you can most likely find us here....

Kayden has just reached the height line to be able to enjoy the big slides and believe me he is making the most of it! He's been watching with envy all summer while Carver has been enjoying the big slides all summer so it was a pretty big deal when he got that bracelet saying he's big enough.

Carver's still enjoying them too. :)

Before we know it all of this bumming around the pool will be behind us as school is starting next week. The summer has flown by but Carver's pretty excited to start 4 year old preschool with his new teacher. He's still trying to talk me into letting him go to school 5 days a week instead of the 3 days a week that we have him signed up for but I'm not hearing it. I know that kindergarten is just around the corner and then he'll be in school all day everyday....I can't even bare to think about it. :(

So, hang in there with us while we cram as much fun into the next couple of weeks that we can. :)

Oh, and for those of you that we haven't talked to in a while, keep Chris and I in your thoughts as we finish our last several weeks of training for our big races this fall. We're going to Maui!!! I will be running the Maui marathon and Chris will be running the Maui half marathon on September 20...and then we'll be staying for some rest and relaxation in paradise. :)

We feel so blessed everyday to have have our health and our beautiful family and this is an opportunity for us to really push ourselves and then enjoy some time together to strength our marriage and recoup before heading back into the grind of things. We know we are very blessed to have some great family to help us out with the boys so that we can go on little adventures like this. Thanks for all of your support to our moms, and the rest of our family and friends....we really do appreciate you! :)

I Win, I Win, I Win!

Well, if there was any question that these boys were mine, I think that this proves that they are. I think that they may have inherited my competitiveness. This is what happens when I put Daddy in charge of jammies and he makes it into a contest to see who can get dressed first.

Happy Birthday Riley!!!

Yes, we're those people that love their dogs as if they were children, and we're proud of it. Our "baby" Riley is 8 years old today!! He has had many adventures and taken many journeys with us and we love him so much!! We spoil him just a little :) but he's worth every bit of it. He loves us and he loves our boys.

We love you Riley!!! Happy Birthday buddy!
