Blessed

With two adorable, funny, fun loving boys. Blessed even more so with a husband that loves being a daddy. We don't really have traditional roles in our house, never have. Thank goodness, because I am not always the best housekeeper and I am definitely not the best cook. But more importantly, we share our roles as parents and I am so blessed and thankful that Toph (Chris) loves being a daddy and he is so good at it. He spends more time with our boys than most dads. His time is their time. Some nights he comes home and takes over after dinner, giving the boys baths and getting them ready for bed. It just melts my heart when I hear my boys giggling and playing. They often will wrestle around in Kayden's room and I just love sneaking in to watch them and to enjoy these moments that I will never forget but that I know will someday fade away as our boys grow. In those moments they are just so care free, so happy, so lost in the time that they are spending with their daddy. The center of his attention, with no distractions. I hope that our boys will realize as they grow up how lucky they are to have a daddy that loves to be with them, and wouldn't rather be anywhere else. I know that Toph is not a typical dad and I am so grateful and thankful for that. I am blessed. Our boys are blessed.

Oh I Wish I Were an Oscar Mayer Weiner

So, a few weeks ago the Weinermobile and the new Mini Weinermobile were in town so I of course being the goof that I am got super excited about it and took the boys to see it. I don't know who was more excited me or Carver but he LOVED it!! He kept calling it the Hot Dog car and kept asking if we could go back and see it again for about a week after that. He just could not believe that there was a car that looked like a giant hot dog. He left happy with his weiner whistle in hand. Here are a couple of pictures.

Hawkeye Boys Cruising

Okay, so Chris is always teasing me that the boys are going to be graduating from high school before I know it because he knows that it drives me crazy to think of my boys growing up. Today Carver was driving Kayden around in his Power Wheels Jeep that we have of course turned into a Hawkeye Jeep for them and I just had this image of them driving away from our home as teenagers and I just wanted to freeze time. It was soooo cute though! Here's the video.

Our Family

I figure this blog is mostly to let you in on a little more of our day to day life and let those of you that live far away get to know our boys a little better. I know that most of you are already close to us and know us but for any of you just joining our clan through this blog, here's the quick intro. I'm Brooke and I am a former teacher and now SAHM to my two beautiful boys Carver(3) and Kayden(1). I am married to my best friend and the love of my life Chris for 6 years now and I am thank God every day for him and the husband and father that he is. We also have 2 furry kids (our dogs) Riley and Capper. Our house is usually totaly chaos and craziness but we wouldn't have it any other way. I can't wait to share some of our fun with you.
