Bix Weekend

Bix weekend is coming to a close and I have to admit I'm kind of sad. I love Bix weekend! The boys did the Jr. Bix on Friday evening and they did great! Then they were off to Memaw and Papa's for the night. Chris and I and our friend PJ got up early Saturday morning to get down to the starting line for the Bix race. The Bix is a 7 mile race that is well known around here and it is so much fun!! About 12, 000 people ran the Bix 7 this year which is part of the fun and a little bit of the frustration of this race. It's hard to get into your rhythm at the beginning of the race because of all of the people but for a lonely runner like me it's kind of fun to run with so many people and the after party is always a blast! Saturday night my little brother and his girlfriend wanted the boys to come over for a slumber party so Chris and PJ and I got to go back down to the Bix Fest and enjoy some fun and relaxation with friends. What a great weekend!! I couldn't have asked for more. Here are the highlights in pictures.....

The boys were pretty proud of themselves, they declared themselves the winners! Kayden even got 2 medals, just for being so darn cute. :)

Yeah for Cousins!

We've had a busy, fun week this week. Aunt Heather (Chris's sister) and our nephews (her boys) are visiting from Colorado and our boys are loving it!

They were soooo excited to see Justin and Kyle on Saturday....

We were able to attend a family reunion and get a nice picture of Chris's side of the family....we're a pretty good looking group don't you think?

Then the boys got to slip n slide at Grandma's house.....

And Chris couldn't let them have all of the fun! :)

Sunday, we headed to the pool. All of the boys had lots of fun on the water slides....

And just enjoyed goofing around in the water....

Sunday night the boys were very excited to have their first sleep over with their cousins.....they played outside for hours and Justin and Carver caught lots of lighting bugs :)

Our sleep over turned into a neighborhood movie party and all of the neighbor kids came in to watch some Harry Potter. :) It was so fun...made me feel like a kid again.

The boys finally got tired and were ready for bed.....

Monday we hit the zoo......

Tuesday was a great day for go-karts and fun at Michaels Fun World....

I'm sure I'll have a few more pictures to share by the end of the week. Until then, we'll be enjoying our time with family and wishing we lived closer so that all of the cousins could play more often. It's so fun to see them all together. :)

Dog days of summer

Enjoying the dog days of summer....although the weather has been a little wierd with some cooler temps and lots of rain. Still loving every minute of it and doing some of our favorite things.....

Puppy Siting and Froggy Fun

Besides all of our 4th of July fun this weekend, we also got to puppy sit for Uncle Dylan and his girlfriend Kelly.....

The boys were pretty excited and they both wanted to take him to bed with them last night.....


They figured they should try out Chase's bed too......

I don't know who wore who out more....but my boys were in heaven having a puppy around this weekend, they're already working on Daddy for a new puppy of their own. :)

After Chase went home to get some peace and quiet from my crazy boys we had another little visitor decide to hop on over for some fun at the Banker house.....

We found this little guy hanging out in our yard as we were filling up the pool.
Carver got pretty brave, even holding him for a minute.....

And both of the boys were very entertained watching him hop around the pool.....

After a few minutes of fun we decided that we better let our little friend get home and we let him go, but it was fun to play for a while. :)

Happy 4th of July!!

Despite a rainy 4th of July we had a great weekend full of fun.

The boys played some pick up baseball at the River Bandits (our minor league team) game on Friday night.....

Spent some time enjoying the sights and sounds of the ball park with Daddy.....

Played by the mighty Mississippi while waiting to see some fireworks.....

Had some fun using Mommy's head as a drum.....

And loved seeing the fireworks...... Both of the boys were ooohing and aaaahing the whole time and Kayden kept saying, "do it again!" and "boom!" It was really cute seeing them both enjoy the fireworks so much this year.

We finished the weekend off with a day in the front yard pool and a family cookout. It was a great weekend. Hope you all had a great 4th of July as well!
