Happy Father's Day Daddy

Sometimes, we are lucky enough to see someone do what they are truly destined to do....those people are lucky and we are lucky to witness it.

Almost 8 years ago I married my best friend and I thought that I knew who he was and I thought that I understood what love was.

Then, 5 years ago I got to see him become a daddy, and I realized that I was witnessing one of those rare moments when you see a person really do what they are destined to do....for him it was becoming a father.

I have been so fortunate to see him embrace his role as a daddy and to see how amazing he is at being a daddy.  Our boys will probably not realize for a long time how lucky they truly are to have a father that loves being with them and that would do anything to make sure they are loved, cared for, and happy in life.

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

We Love You So Much!!

Summertime, Summertime, Sum Sum Summertime!

The boys are enjoying every minute of summer and they especially love to get together with their cousins (my brother Alan's little guys:) to enjoy these lazy days of summer.  Yesterday Aunt Sara (my sister in law:) brought the kids down to have some fun at the park.  We were then getting read to head to the zoo when mother nature had other plans and sent a big storm our way so we hit the children's museum instead.
Memaw even got to come to the park to see all of the grandkids and have some fun.... :)

I just love these little faces...Ava, Carver, Kayden, and Connor :)

The many adventures of Carver & K-Man

So, while we were out being our crazy selves and running (literally!) all over San Diego, the boys were having fun with Memaw and Grandma and loving every minute of it!

First, they made a little road trip to Missouri to see my mom's (Memaw) mom, Great Grandma Edna and to attend her family reunion....
Here they are with Memaw and Papa (very brave grandparents taking a 3 and 5 year old on a 5 hour road trip)....
Memaw, Kayden, Carver, Papa Steve, Great Grandma Edna, my Uncle Vern, my cousin Kaley and her boyfriend Brian....
Family picture at the family reunion, I'm so glad they got to go, they had lots of fun and I know that Great Grandma Edna was thrilled to have them there. :)
After all of that fun, the boys moved on to some adventures with Grandma Kathy....
They went hiking and exploring at Heritage Canyon, even finding time to dress up :)
Then, they fancied up for real!  The boys have recently discovered "Fancy Nancy" books from the library and they are really into them.  So, Grandma Kathy got the boys all fancied up in suits (which from what I hear they did not want to take off) and made them a "fancy" lunch (chocolate milk from wine goblets, sandwiches with frilly toothpicks, and a fancy dessert).....they LOVED it!!  K-Man even took a nap in his suit that afternoon. :)

Breakfast with the......

Penguins!!

Our zoo recently got penguins and the boys have been so excited to finally meet them.  On Saturday the boys and I went and had breakfast at the zoo and had the opportunity to meet the penguins!  The boys loved it!!  They got the opportunity to learn all about them, to pet them, and even to see them paint....

It's Strawberry Time Again!

It's always so hard to choose which pictures to post from our annual strawberry picking trip to Pride of the Wapsi.  The boys always have such a great time, and every year they pick more and eat less. :)  We've been picking strawberries since Carver could walk...I still remember that first trip...he ate his body weight in strawberries, every time we'd put one in the box he'd take it out and eat it. :)  He actually did a great job pof picking berries this year and was really good about teaching his brother which were good ones to pick. :)

We picked nearly 40 lbs of strawberries.  I made one pie, one dessert, 8 jars of jam, and froze a whole bunch for us to use throughout the year.

I love picking strawberries...such a great family tradition and so much fun!
