Wordless Wednesday

Yeah right. You didn't really believe that I would be able to post without any words did you? Come on, you know me better than that! So, we'll call it a fairly wordless Wednesday. Not too many words. Just enough. Here we go.......

This is what happens when Kayden decided he isn't going to nap. He'll show me!!

Movie night, Riley really enjoys it. Kayden likes to share his popcorn. :)

Painting pumpkins.

Painting Mommy.

Painting each other!

What a work of art. :)
Carver trying to teach his brother to use the potty.
They were very proud of themselves! All I could do was smile. If this isn't a brother's moment I don't know what is.
Playing firemen in Kayden's fireman bed. Aren't they just the cutest firefighters you've ever seen?

Picking pumpkins, hayrack rides, riding goats, all in a days fun!

The weather was nice, the pumpkins were huge, and the boys got to ride a goat chariot. All in a days fun at the pumpkin patch in Iowa, I guess! We had a blast. The boys enjoyed every minute of it and came home with some great pumpkins for Halloween. See for yourself.....

These two are just the boys being goofy getting ready to go to the pumpkin patch. Silly boys!

Pictures!

My computer has been acting up again so I've taken Chris's hostage to get up a quick update. We had some pictures of the boys taken today and I was pleasently surprised at how well both of the boys did. The main objective was to get some 18 month pictures of Kayden but we also managed to get a few really cute pictures of the boys together. I have some really great pictures from the pumpkin patch this weekend too so it's my goal to get those posted this weekend too so check back for those and maybe a few more from today once I get a chance to go through all of these. Enjoy!

Does anyone recognize these two?

I found this policeman and monkey wandering around outside of the mom's group halloween party on Friday. Anyone know who they are? They are just adorable aren't they? I think I'll keep them! :)

Blessed

We feel so blessed to have some really great friends. Chris and I had the opportunity to spend some time with some of them this weekend. I didn't get a lot of pictures but I wanted to share the few that I did get. We got a Hawkeye win and everyone had a great time.

Josh, Chris J. and my Chris. These guys were all roommates back in college and they always have a great time trying to relive those days when they get together for a Hawkeye game. The wives always enjoy hearing all of their crazy stories too! :)

Me and Josh at the game. I love you Josh!!!

Angela (Chris J.'s wife) and Josh hanging out after the game.

Josh and Chris outside Kinnick stadium. This picture makes me smile, I love seeing these two guys together having so much fun. I know Chris would never say it, but I know that he feels as blessed as I do to have such a great friend in Josh.

When did my baby become such a big boy?

I just took this picture. Kayden is sleeping in his big boy firetruck bed tonight for the first time. It's fun to see him growing up and doing so many new things.

Guess what else he did tonight? He went pee pee in the potty after bath tonight, we were shocked!! I'm not expecting him to be potty trained anytime soon but it was crazy that he went to the potty and did that all on his own tonight.

All of that being said.... Where is my baby? When did he get all grown up? Sniff, sniff. :)

The boys just wanted to say hi!! They've been busy eating up as much of this beautiful weather as they can while it lasts. We are really not looking forward to winter!!

Kayden has been following Carver around all the time lately just wanting to be just like his big brother. I just thought it was priceless when he got on Carver's scooter and wanted to ride. He needed a little help from Daddy but doesn't he look so big?

Carver "jedi knight" riding his bike with his light saber. He is getting so big and is really into Star Wars right now. We even had to get Kayden his very own light saber so that they can have their battles. Yeah, I'm rethinking that one!!

On Friday we went to the Moline Homecoming parade (I think it was the first time I've been to that since I was in it my senior year in high school) with Memaw by her school. The boys had a great time, they always love seeing Memaw and going to her school.

I find that lately the boys are both learning so much and seem to be changing even more quickly than usual. Carver is learning so much at school and has been loving his mommy time each week. Kayden is talking up a storm with new words everyday and he is really exerting his individuality and making his wishes known. He loves his music class and pretty much runs the show there. He loves to go with Mommy for that and some one on one time but he hates leaving his brother and usually cries when we leave him to go to class or when we drop him off at school.

I'll try to do better doing updates this week. The boys have a Halloween party on Friday for our mom's group so I'm sure I'll have some pictures from that to share of them in their costumes (you'll love them!!) but I'll try to update before that too.

Why 3 would be crazy!

Okay, I'll admit it, I've had a few moments lately where I've actually thought about having another baby. Now stop right there, that does not mean that Chris is on board with this. Each time that I tell him I want another baby he just looks at me like I'm nuts and if I look even half way serious he starts reminding me of why 2 is enough for now. The boys fighting, Carver's often delightful 3 year old attitude, how no one would be crazy enough to watch 3 of them for us, and on an on. I literally could go on for a while.

Anyway, so our friend's little boy Mason (he's 1) comes over one day a week and I watch him so that his mommy can work and we trade babysitting so she watches each of the boys a few hours throughout the week for me so that I can have some one on one time with each of them. Whenever the neighbors see us out with all 3 of the boys they always tease me and say, oh we didn't know you had another one, ha ha! My reply is always the same, "No, this is the baby that my husband borrows so that I won't want to have another one." We all laugh, but I sometimes think it's true.

Today was one of those days.

So, of course today is a school day for Carver and it is raining. Normally if I have Mason and it is a school day I'll just put everyone (that one you'd need a picture for!) into the double jogging stroller and walk them up to the school. Well with the rain coming down so nicely today I knew that that was not an option so I had no choice but to pile them into the car. Mason into Kayden's carseat, Kayden into Carver's carseat in the middle and then Carver in a booster seat (he's big enough for one he just has a nervous mommy so we've never used it before) next to him. They were snug as could be and oh so cute at they all kind of looked at each other like wow, are we ALL really back here? So once they were all loaded (I was kicking myself for not having my camera because it was pretty darn cute!) up to the school we drove, everyone was good for the car ride singing along to the kids music playing on the CD player. When we got there, our next adventure began as I unloaded the double stroller and put both Kayden and Mason into that and Carver walked as we hurried into the school, trying not to get too wet (remember it's still raining!). Once into the school we got a few, is she crazy? looks but we made it. I think Carver was happy to be leaving us and all of the crazines and off to school he went. And back to the car in the rain the babies and I went to unload everyone and head home.

The whole process of getting Carver to school took about twice as long as usual. I survived but it did make me realize that I wouldn't want to do that everyday. And it made me wonder how people that do have 3 little ones do it. They must just be exhausted all the time!

So, as I know my wonderful husband is reading this, don't worry honey, I had a big dose of reality today, I don't think you'll have to worry about me talking about another baby for a while. At least not for a few weeks until I see an adorable baby and forget how much work today was!

Catching Up

Okay, after another really crazy busy week. One that found me without a computer after it decided to stop working on me, I'm back!! It's been a tough weekend around our house with Hawkeye and Cubs losses, but we're surviving. There's no hope for the Cubs but hopefully the Hawks can pull off a win next week.

So, here's what we've been up to.....
The boys have been getting along really well this week, which has been a nice change. Kayden is still trying to keep up with Carver and do everything his big brother does but Carver has been pretty tolerant of him this week and they have been running around causing trouble together.
Besides that, Carver has been busy at preschool and still loving it. Kayden is really liking his music class too and both of the boys seem to be enjoying their one on one times with Mommy.
So, on to the pictures.....
The boys were having lots of fun after bath one night last week. They love these towels and they run around doing the animal sounds to go with them. Kayden is a dog and Carver is a duck. Of course with ducks being Kayden's favorite animal, he always wants to be the duck so as soon as Carver put his towel in hamper Kayden pulled it out and ran around with it on his head, over his jammies quacking up a storm. Silly boy!!
Saturday we went to Chris's cousin Michelle's wedding and the boys had a great time. They loved spending time with Grandma and Grandpa....
Carver was dancing up a storm.
Even dancing with mommy, what a sweet boy!
Daddy kept K-Man entertained, he was pulling him around in this chair and Kayden loved it, he kept asking for more!
Aren't these two just adorable?
Carver of course couldn't wait to dance with the bride. He had his dollar all ready when it was time for the dollar dance and he was first in line. :)
And here's the whole family all dressed up and having a grand old time.
