Okay, I'll admit it, I've had a few moments lately where I've actually thought about having another baby. Now stop right there, that does not mean that Chris is on board with this. Each time that I tell him I want another baby he just looks at me like I'm nuts and if I look even half way serious he starts reminding me of why 2 is enough for now. The boys fighting, Carver's often delightful 3 year old attitude, how no one would be crazy enough to watch 3 of them for us, and on an on. I literally could go on for a while.
Anyway, so our friend's little boy Mason (he's 1) comes over one day a week and I watch him so that his mommy can work and we trade babysitting so she watches each of the boys a few hours throughout the week for me so that I can have some one on one time with each of them. Whenever the neighbors see us out with all 3 of the boys they always tease me and say, oh we didn't know you had another one, ha ha! My reply is always the same, "No, this is the baby that my husband borrows so that I won't want to have another one." We all laugh, but I sometimes think it's true.
Today was one of those days.
So, of course today is a school day for Carver and it is raining. Normally if I have Mason and it is a school day I'll just put everyone (that one you'd need a picture for!) into the double jogging stroller and walk them up to the school. Well with the rain coming down so nicely today I knew that that was not an option so I had no choice but to pile them into the car. Mason into Kayden's carseat, Kayden into Carver's carseat in the middle and then Carver in a booster seat (he's big enough for one he just has a nervous mommy so we've never used it before) next to him. They were snug as could be and oh so cute at they all kind of looked at each other like wow, are we ALL really back here? So once they were all loaded (I was kicking myself for not having my camera because it was pretty darn cute!) up to the school we drove, everyone was good for the car ride singing along to the kids music playing on the CD player. When we got there, our next adventure began as I unloaded the double stroller and put both Kayden and Mason into that and Carver walked as we hurried into the school, trying not to get too wet (remember it's still raining!). Once into the school we got a few, is she crazy? looks but we made it. I think Carver was happy to be leaving us and all of the crazines and off to school he went. And back to the car in the rain the babies and I went to unload everyone and head home.
The whole process of getting Carver to school took about twice as long as usual. I survived but it did make me realize that I wouldn't want to do that everyday. And it made me wonder how people that do have 3 little ones do it. They must just be exhausted all the time!
So, as I know my wonderful husband is reading this, don't worry honey, I had a big dose of reality today, I don't think you'll have to worry about me talking about another baby for a while. At least not for a few weeks until I see an adorable baby and forget how much work today was!
