We Did It!!

We did it!! On Sunday September 20, 2009 in beautiful Maui, Hawaii I ran my first marathon (26.2 miles) and Chris ran his first half marathon (13.1 miles). It was amazing!!! It was hot but the views were amazing!! I finished with a time of 4:45:10, 383 out of 1298 runners, 35 out of 110 in my division of women 30-34. Crossing that finish line after the months of training and preparation was unbelievable! I think I can speak for Chris and say that he felt the same way. :) His official time was 2:49:00. I was so proud of him!!!

I did it! I wish I had a picture like this of Chris. That was the only bad thing about me finishing after him, I didn't get to see him cross the finish line. :(

We had an amazing time in Maui. It was absolutely beatiful and I totally recommend that anyone that hasn't been there get there some time in your life. We have a lot more pictures (duh! :) so I'll try to get those posted soon. Thanks for being so patient on updates. :) We're taking the boys to Iowa City for the Hawkeye game this weekend so I'll get pictures of that up soon too. I know you're dying to see their adorable faces! :)

Gone to the Dogs!

The pool that we spent most of our summer at had a pooch plunge for the end of the summer tonight so we gathered up our furry babies and our boys and off to the pool we went.

Of course, Kayden couldn't figure out what was going on. He kept saying, "No dogs at the pool!" We had told him all summer when he wanted to take our dogs with us to the pool that dogs weren't allowed at the pool so he couldn't figure out why were were breaking all of the rules! :)

Once we got there, everyone had a blast though. Riley was right at home, he has always loved the water. He used to love to go the beach in California. Capper was a little unsure about the swimming part as she has never been in the water but she still had a great time running around with all of the dogs and splashing around.

Go Hawks!!

Hawkeye football season is here and my boys are definitely ready!! It may have been ugly but we picked up our first win yesterday, just squeaking out a victory against UNI. Hey, we'll take a win!! :)

Circus Fun!

Thanks to Memaw we went to the circus on Thursday night and the boys LOVED it!! Kayden was so into the show the entire time. Even at the end when he was ready to fall asleep he was still keeping up with all of the action. We all had a great time!
